I opened KidzALot to create a boutique-style shopping experience for children’s essentials — without boutique prices.
After years working in banking technology and traveling frequently, I discovered a small children’s boutique in Bath, Maine that left a lasting impression. It was thoughtfully curated, welcoming, and full of high-quality items. Conversations with the owner planted the idea that maybe I could create something similar back home.
That idea became personal when I became a grandparent — six times over. Seeing how quickly kids outgrow clothes, toys, and gear made it clear how much families need affordable, practical options that don’t sacrifice quality.
When I shared the idea of opening a children’s resale store, my husband came up with the name KidzALot, and the dream quickly became a plan.
From the start, I wanted KidzALot to stand out in two ways: affordability and sustainability. By sourcing items in bulk and accepting gently used or like-new donations, we help families save money while keeping great items out of landfills.
Today, KidzALot offers children’s clothing, books, toys, strollers, bottles, pacifiers, wipes, and handmade baby shower gift baskets and diaper cakes. We’re also proud to be truly kid-friendly, with a playroom where little ones can play while parents shop.
After 20 years in Florida, we returned to Plattsburgh in February 2025, and opening KidzALot felt like the perfect way to come home. This store wouldn’t exist without the support of my husband and my brother and sister-in-law.
My hope is that KidzALot becomes your one-stop shop for all things childcare — because kids need a lot, and families deserve options that make sense.
